Hot runner injection moulds

We design and build injection moulds with hot runner systems from MasterFlow of Sweden, trial them on our own presses and service them in our plant in Kowary, Poland.

Swedish hot runners, a toolroom that knows them

MasterFlow AB of Västervik, Sweden, has made hot runners since 1981, entirely in its own plant. C-TECH, part of the C-FORM Group, is MasterFlow's only representative in Poland, so our mould designers work directly with MasterFlow's engineers.

When a hot runner pays off

A hot runner keeps the plastic molten all the way to the cavity. It pays off most with large volumes, multi-cavity moulds, short cycles and expensive materials.

  • No runner: nothing to degate or regrind
  • Shorter cycle time
  • Balanced filling in multi-cavity moulds
  • Stable manifold and nozzle temperature, also for heat-sensitive materials

MasterFlow systems

MasterFlow's main product lines. We give technical details in our quotation, based on the manufacturer's catalogue.

  • Screw-in manifold systems

MasterFlow's standard system: bushings screwed into the manifold for a good heat profile; the whole system is lifted into the mould in one operation.

  • Bushings and end caps, series 20–50

Open, tip, recessed and sprue gates. Recommended shot weight per bushing from 20 g to 7.7 kg, depending on series and material.

  • Valve gate systems

Hydraulically or pneumatically actuated valve pins for automotive and medical applications, fast cycles and technical parts.

  • Multi-cavity series

Naturally balanced systems with tight bushing pitch, including several valve pins per cylinder block.

  • Cold-Half™

Separates the mould from the hot runner with no heat transfer; serviced from one side.

  • MTX-5 controller

Temperature control for the manifold and nozzles, also for heat-sensitive materials and fast cycles.

Selected together with the mould

We choose the hot runner system for the part, the material and the number of cavities while we design the mould, not afterwards.

Injection moulds

Trials on our own presses

We fit the system ourselves and run the mould on presses from 25 to 1000 tonnes in the same plant (C-TECH).

Injection moulding

Service and repair

We service hot runner moulds in our plant in Kowary, following MasterFlow's technical documentation and with support from the manufacturer's engineers.

Buying MasterFlow systems outside Poland

Outside Poland, MasterFlow sells its systems directly and through local partners. We build and service the moulds.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hot runner mould?

A hot runner mould has a heated runner system: a manifold and nozzles carry molten plastic from the machine nozzle to the cavities. The plastic does not solidify in the runners, so there is no solid runner to remove.

When does a hot runner pay off?

Usually with large volumes, multi-cavity moulds, short cycles and expensive materials, because the runner material and its handling are eliminated. For small volumes a cold runner is often enough. We calculate whether it pays off for your specific part.

Can you service a mould with a hot runner?

Yes. Describe the mould and the problem, and attach photos or documentation. We service hot runner moulds in our plant in Kowary.

What is a hot runner controller?

A controller keeps the manifold and nozzles at the set temperature. MasterFlow's MTX-5 controller adapts to the heater response time and keeps the temperature stable.

Planning a hot runner mould?

Attach the part model and tell us the material, shot weight and number of cavities. We select the hot runner together with the mould.
